November 3, Pozirk. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has not reacted in any way to the war raging in Europe for years, Alaksandar Łukašenka said on November 3 in Minsk during a meeting with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu.

“A war has been going on in Europe for years. This is a serious challenge for the OSCE. There has been no response from the organization. Perhaps there has been one, but I know nothing about it. The leaders of OSCE member states should be aware of it,” Łukašenka said, apparently referring to Russia’s war against Ukraine.

On the day of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, including from the Belarusian territory, the OSCE condemned it as a flagrant violation of international law. The organization has repeatedly called for an end to the war and the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

Łukašenka also complained that the OSCE had “slipped into a pattern of criticism directed at just one side and the same countries.” He claimed that the organization sends election observation missions to such countries “with reports prepared in advance.”

He did not mention the fact that Minsk has not invited the OSCE to observe any of the elections held since 2020.

Łukašenka said that Belarus would strive to ensure that the OSCE “returns to its professional duties and works toward security and cooperation” in “our common European home.”

Lukashenka reiterated his mantra that the world needs “a multipolar order and diversity” and welcomed Sinirlioğlu’s decision to visit Belarus to attend the fourth annual Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security.
