November 6, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Barbara Massing, Deutsche Welle\u2019s <\/em>general director, has strongly condemned Minsk\u2019s decision to add four of its Belarusian journalists to an international wanted list maintained by Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ullana Babajed was added to the list, published by Russia, in January; Volha Kapu\u015bcina, in July; Alaksandra Bahus\u0142a\u016dskaja, in August; and Kaciaryna Kry\u017eano\u016dskaja in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massing said that the authorities are trying to intimidate the journalists into silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian authorities declared \u201ca group of citizens from among the founders, administrators and other participants in the internet resources under the common name DW Belarus<\/em>\u201d an extremist group in April 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia\u2019s international database of wanted people contained the names of more than 6,000 Belarusians, including more than 100 journalists, according to the Belarusian Association of Journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
