Zuje\u016d and Baha\u016dko\u016d face additional charges of violence against officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All four are currently based outside Belarus and are tried under special proceedings that target those living abroad and evading contact with investigators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trial is connected with an incident that reportedly occurred in London on December 19, 2021, after a rally in solidarity with Belarus\u2019 political prisoners authorized by the city government. An altercation with embassy staff reportedly occurred after a group of Belarusians put a toilet scrubber and cleaner on display in front of the embassy\u2019s gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The defendants set up an &#8220;insulting&#8221; object outside the embassy and threw eggs at the facade, the prosecutor said. They allegedly battered Belarusian diplomats who arrived at the scene. One diplomat was diagnosed with mild concussion, nasal fracture and chipped tooth, according to earlier reports from the foreign ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry summoned the UK&#8217;s charge d&#8217;affaires to protest against the incident and demand that it be thoroughly investigated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prosecutors forwarded the case to court on July 26.
