{"id":2582,"date":"2023-09-20T21:20:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-20T18:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/?post_type=articles&#038;p=2582"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"supreme-court-dissolves-belarusian-social-democratic-party-hramada","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/2582\/","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court dissolves Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>September 14,\u00a0<em>Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0The Supreme Court has satisfied the justice ministry&#8217;s claim and dissolved the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada), the opposition party&#8217;s chairman Ihar Barysa\u016d has told\u00a0<em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This is not the end,&#8221; Barysa\u016d said. &#8220;As long as there is our team and people who believe in the future democratic Belarus, in its social democratic choice, we will rise from the ashes like a phoenix.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On September 5, the Supreme Court rejected Hramada&#8217;s complaint against the justice ministry&#8217;s refusal to re-register it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The authorities disbanded nine opposition, loyalist, or inert alliances in the summer and early fall: the Conservative Christian Party; the Belarusian Patriotic Party; the Belarusian Greens Party; the Belarusian Social Democratic Hramada; the Republican Party; the Social Democratic Party of Popular Accord; the Belarusian Popular Front; the United Civic Party; and the Belarusian Social Sports Party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pro-government Belarusian Agrarian Party&nbsp;filed for dissolution in early September. And on September 22, justices will consider shutting down the Just World Party of the Left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In late 2022, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka called for disbanding parties whose activities run counter to &#8220;the basic principles of internal and foreign policy.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In mid-February, he signed a law requiring all parties to re-register based on more rigorous membership criteria. Soon afterwards, Justice Minister Siarhiej Chamienka said that the number of political parties in Belarus would drop from fifteen to three or four after the re-registration
