Judge Ja\u016dhien Pisarevi\u010d of the Minsk City Court had sentenced the journalist to four years in prison on June 30&nbsp;for his alleged&nbsp;cooperation with banned&nbsp;<em>Belsat TV<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Padabied was involved in the production of reports about kidnapped cameraman \u0179micier Zavadski and murdered journalist Pavie\u0142 \u0160aramiet, according to prosecutors. They also said&nbsp;he had an account in a foreign bank \u2013 evidence of his &#8220;selfish motives&#8221; and &#8220;financial benefits.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The journalist&nbsp;refused to testify to investigators and during the trial dismissed the charges as far-fetched. Human rights groups said his prosecution was politically-motivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Belarusian Association of Journalists, the police tapped his phone and had access to his correspondence on messengers.
