The exact charges against her and her current whereabouts are unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police continued arresting people in Va\u016dkavysk, Hrodna region, including two staff members of the Bellakt dairy company, local resident Dzianis Arcista\u016d and a deputy chief physician of the Praleska health resort, pro-government sources said. Police accused them of sharing opposition content and other offences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Homiel man is under arrest for sharing a leaflet with alleged insults against officials via opposition channels, the Viasna Human Rights Center said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities released Aleh Rudako\u016d, former head of the Belarusian Culture Society in Russia&#8217;s Irkutsk, and his wife Volha after they had served 30 days in jail,\u00a0<em>Pozirk <\/em>reported. They may be expelled to Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Criminal proceedings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A judge in Navapo\u0142ack, Viciebsk region, sentenced Illa Dvojryn, an employee at the Naftan oil refinery, to one-year suspended prison sentence for splashing paint on a car with Crimean license plates and pro-Russian symbols, Viasna said. He was freed in the courtroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A judge in Baranavi\u010dy, Brest region, sentenced Ivan Norka, 65, to 18 months of restricted freedom in home confinement on charges of slandering Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka, the Brest branch of Viasna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On September 15, Stanis\u0142a\u016d Sialicki was given two years and six months of restricted freedom in home confinement for participating in a protest rally, Viasna reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Psychology instructor Alesia Lancevi\u010d was given three years in prison for donations to solidarity initiatives and allegedly insulting \u0141uka\u0161enka and officials, the Brest branch of Viasna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Viktar Sutormin, Maryja Va\u0142adkovi\u010d, D\u017amitryj Abdu\u0142mana\u016d, Anton Bieli\u010d, Alaksandra Bieli\u010d and Halina Harodka were given restricted freedom terms in home confinement of two years and more over protests, Viasna reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On September 19, a judge in Minsk sentenced former geography teacher Iryna Ma\u017earskaja to three years of restricted freedom in home confinement for taking part in postelection protests, Viasna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extremist list update<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities blacklisted a number of opposition social media accounts as extremist content, Viasna said. Additions include the Center of New Ideas, Paspalitaje Ru\u0161e\u0144nie and LITVANIA Telegram channels, several satirical YouTube channels and Daj Darohu band&#8217;s Instagram page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Committee for State Security (KGB) branded the Belarusian Investigative Center an extremist group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other instances of persecution<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A court in Switzerland acquitted Juryj Hara\u016dski, the former special forces fighter who admitted to being a member of the government-run death squad that allegedly abducted and killed \u0141uka\u0161enka&#8217;s opponents in 1999,&nbsp;<em>DW Belarus<\/em>&nbsp;reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rights groups said at least 124 people were convicted for online comments on the 2021 shootout involving an IT engineer and KGB officers, known as the &#8220;Zielcer case,&#8221; Viasna said. Most of them were given prison terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On September 15, the Minsk city authorities filed a lawsuit to dissolve the New Life Church, Chry\u015bcijanskaja Vizija reported citing pastor Via\u010das\u0142a\u016d Han\u010darenka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of September 29, human rights defenders identified at least 1,492 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.
