{"id":3565,"date":"2023-09-01T18:11:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-01T15:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/?post_type=articles&#038;p=3565"},"modified":"2026-03-10T12:05:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T12:05:06","slug":"prominent-educator-added-to-extremism-list","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/3565\/","title":{"rendered":"Prominent educator added to extremism list"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>September 1,\u00a0<em>Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Belarus&#8217; interior ministry has added a prominent educator and six other defendants in his case to its\u00a0extremism list, according to the ministry website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three months ago, a Minsk court sentenced Ja\u016dhien Liviant, a co-founder of the 100 Ballov education center, to three years of restricted freedom, a form of house arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The case also involved his wife Julija, a former teacher, their daughters Halina and Hanna, Hanna&#8217;s husband Mikita Drozd, as well as 100 Ballov co-founder Alaksiej Ivano\u016d and a certain Alaksandra Ensajn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All defendants were charged with public order offenses in connection with 2020 protests against election fraud. Julija, Halina and Alaksiej were sentenced to two-and-a-half years of restricted freedom; Alaksandra Ensajn (Vil\u010dyckaja) to 18 months; Hanna and Mikita to three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People placed on the list of individuals involved in extremist activities are prohibited from engaging in education activity, publishing, as well as from holding state positions and from doing military service, for five years after completing their sentences or criminal record annulment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their financial transactions are subject to close monitoring.All seven were blacklisted among 72 new additions to the police list of &#8220;extremists,&#8221; which now contains 3,250 names.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 1,\u00a0Pozirk.\u00a0Belarus&#8217; interior ministry has added a prominent educator and six other defendants in his case to its\u00a0extremism list, according to the ministry website.
