September 1,\u00a0Pozirk.<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has dismissed a general who turns 55 this week as the General Staff deputy chief in charge of combat control, retiring him to the reserve with the right to wear military uniform and insignia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka’s press office reported the dismissal tonight. Valeryj Hni\u0142azub had held the job since July 2020, and had previously managed the elite 72nd Guards Joint Training Center for Warrant Officers and Junior Specialists and had been second-in-command of troops at the Northwestern Operational Command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two weeks ago, Belarus’ authoritarian leader dismissed<\/a> U\u0142adzis\u0142a\u016d Budzik as deputy chief of the General Staff and head of its main organization and mobilization department.
