The document was published on the National Legal Internet Portal on January 29.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t On January 1, 2022, Belarus imposed a six-month embargo on a number of imported goods in response to sanctions by Western countries. Initially, products from the EU, the US, Albania, the UK, Iceland, Canada, Norway, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, and Switzerland were banned.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t The embargo applies to fresh and frozen meat of cattle, pork and poultry meat, offal, sausages, milk and dairy products, vegetables, fruit, nuts, and confectionery.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t The ban does not apply to goods imported before the ruling came into force, goods imported for personal use, as well as baby food products, and several other items of critical imports.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t According to government estimates, Belarus spends about $500 million annually on imports of goods subject to the food embargo as a result of the counter-sanctions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 29, BPN.
