In the police video, he admitted to participating in 2020 protests, blocking roads with his vehicle and helping protesters get away from police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Viciebsk man is under arrest for online comments, a pro-government source said without disclosing any further details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Criminal proceedings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tor Band musicians D\u017amitryj Ha\u0142ava\u010d, Ja\u016dhien Bur\u0142o and Andrej Jarem\u010dyk will go on trial in Homiel on September 14, the electronic court schedule says. Authorities accuse them of inciting hatred, discrediting the state and insulting Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka. The Tor Band\u2019s songs were popular among opponents of the government during the 2020 protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extremist content update<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A judge in Ma\u0142adzie\u010dna, Minsk region, blacklisted a video featuring Protestant pastor Via\u010das\u0142a\u016d Han\u010darenka as extremist content, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported. In the video dating back to 2020, the pastor condemns police violence against participants of the post-election protests. Other blacklisted content includes Red-Black Stuff and New Life Church\u2019s VKontakte groups as well as&nbsp;<em>Budzma Bie\u0142arusami!<\/em>&nbsp;account on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other instances of persecution<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mahilo\u016d police arrested businesswoman Ina Carova and her husband after searching their home on August 29, MAYDAY.TEAM reported. Carova was released and fined 3,700 rubels (over $1,140) for allegedly participating in protests. Her husband, a Ukrainian national with a Belarusian residence permit, remains in custody and may be deported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A state-appointed commission did not find any violations during a recent inspection of the Penal Colony No 3 in Vi\u0107ba, Viciebsk region, the local branch of Viasna said. A total of 99 people convicted on politically-motivated charges are currently serving their sentences there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jailed lawyer Maksim Znak turned 42 on September 4, the team of former presidential hopeful Viktar Babaryka said on Telegram. He is currently serving a ten-year prison sentence on charges widely seen as politically motivated. There has been no news from him for 207 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pro-government Belarusian Agrarian Party filed for dissolution,&nbsp;<em>BPN&nbsp;<\/em>reported. A total of eight parties were dissolved this summer as a result of a re-registration campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of September 5, human rights defenders identified at least 1,502 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.
