She faces a total of five criminal charges, including promoting extremism and insulting public officials and Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka. Her arrest was reportedly linked to an online comment on the 2021 shootout involving an IT engineer and KGB officers, known as the &#8220;Zielcer case.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several employees of the Lida dairy factory in the Hrodna region are under arrest for sharing opposition content, a Telegram channel monitoring politically-motivated persecution in Hrodna and the Hrodna region reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At least six people were arrested in Homiel for comments and reactions on social media opposition posts, a pro-government Telegram channel said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lavon Mot\u0161e, an employee of an electronics store, is under arrest for allegedly participating in 2020 protest rallies,&nbsp;<em>Na\u0161a Niva<\/em>&nbsp;reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities released Siarhiej Kryu\u010denia and Ihar Petran after both had served prison terms over protests and an online comment, respectively, Viasna reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Criminal proceedings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On September 14, a judge in Minsk sentenced Anastasija and Anton Nikicin to three years of restricted freedom in home confinement for participating in two protest rallies in 2020, Viasna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valancina Biera\u015bneva was given 18 months of restricted freedom on similar charges in \u017d\u0142obin, Homiel region, Viasna reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A judge in Re\u010dyca, Homiel region, sentenced jailed opposition activist Palina \u0160arenda-Panasiuk to another year in prison for allegedly disobeying prison administration, the Brest branch of Viasna reported. She has been in custody since January 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minsk subway worker D\u017amitryj Lankievi\u010d was given two and a half years of restricted freedom in home confinement on August 8, Viasna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extremist list update<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Belarusian Committee for State Security (KGB) blacklisted the Union of Mothers of Belarus as an extremist group on September 29,\u00a0<em>Pozirk<\/em>\u00a0reported. \u015aviat\u0142ana Ancile\u016dskaja, Volha Zdanovi\u010d, Taisija Jakavienka (Lifanava), Natalla Alesinskaja and Ta\u0107ciana Tarpanava (Vasilcova) are blacklisted as persons involved in its activities. Police reportedly already arrested several activists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of October 10, human rights defenders identified at least 1,480 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.
