He was accused of interfering in the work of an internal affairs officer. Later, the charge was reclassified as &#8220;treason against the state&#8221;, which carries a sentence of up to 15 years&#8217; imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p> The journalist collaborated with the&nbsp;<span>Novy \u010cas<\/span> newspaper. His most recent piece was an investigation of former Ukrainian Berkut special forces&#8217; members, who joined the Belarusian security forces and took part in the crackdown of the protests in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Human rights defenders recognized Iva\u0161yn as a political prisoner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>June 10, BPN.
