{"id":42600,"date":"2022-06-15T20:15:43","date_gmt":"2022-06-15T17:15:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/articles\/ponton-units-training-held-on-nioman\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T20:29:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T20:29:13","slug":"ponton-units-training-held-on-nioman","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/42600\/","title":{"rendered":"Ponton units training held on Nioman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>June 15, <span>BPN.<\/span><\/b> An assembly of servicemen of the Armed Forces\u2019 ponton units is taking place on a bank of the Nioman on June 14-27, the Defense Ministry\u2019s press service said.<\/p>\n<p> Dedicated units of the 557th engineering brigade (Hrodna), 7th engineering regiment (Barysa\u016d, Minsk region) and 188th guards engineering brigade (Mahilo\u016d) are involved in the training.<\/p>\n<p> The assembly is led by Andrej Kurako\u016d, the head of the engineering troops directorate at the Armed Forces\u2019 General Staff.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cThe assembly\u2019s main goals is the personnel getting and improving the practical skills of equipping and maintaining bridges and ferries, as well as the Armed Forces\u2019 team preparing for the Open Water competitions that will take place on the Oka, near Russia\u2019s Murom, as part of the 2022 International Army Games,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>On February 24, Russia started what it called a special military operation in Ukraine. Authorities in Minsk deny Belarusian army troops\u2019 involvement in combat operations on the Russian side.
