According to him, prisons in Homiel and Mahilo\u016d, as well as the Ministry of Internal Affairs\u2019 department of corrections, leave relatives\u2019 inquiries unanswered.<\/p>\n<p> On April 7, a court in Homiel added a year on top of her sentence for \u201cmalicious disobedience\u201d to prison administrators.<\/p>\n<p> The activist of the European Belarus campaign, Palina \u0160arenda-Panasiuk is a mother of two minor sons. In June 2021 a court in Brest found her guilty of violence against a police officer and insulting officials and sentenced her to two years in prison.<\/p>\n<p> The husband left the country to avoid prosecution, but the children stayed with their grandmother in Belarus.<\/p>\n<p>Human rights groups declared her a political prisoner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>June 24, BPN.
