\n September 10, BPN<\/span>. <\/b>The \u201cextremist group\u201d label recently attached to the opposition\u2019s transition cabinet exposes fears of the Alaksandr \u0141uka\u0161enka’s regime, said Belarusian democratic leader Sviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t “It is not surprising for us – we know that they are afraid of our democratic forces. The Cabinet represents the interests of our people – \u0141uka\u0161enka only represents himself,” the politician wrote on Twitter<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t On August 30, the Committee for the State Security (KGB) branded “the leaders, founders, and participants of the initiative Joint Transition Cabinet” an extremist group and added a corresponding entry on its list of extremist organizations on September 5.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t Cichano\u016dskaja announced the creation of the opposition’s transition cabinet at a conference in Vilnius on August 9.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t It includes Pavie\u0142 \u0141atu\u0161ka, in charge of power transition; Alaksandar Azara\u016d from the BYPOL association of former security forces as a representative for the restoration of law and order; Valer Kavale\u016dski, currently head of Cichano\u016dskaja\u2019s apparatus, responsible for foreign affairs; Lieutenant Colonel Valer Sacha\u0161\u010dyk, in charge of defense and national security, and Ta\u0107ciana Zareckaja, in charge of finance and economy.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t According to Cichano\u016dskaja, the goals of the Transition Cabinet include \u201cprotecting Belarus\u2019 independence and sovereignty, representing national interests and working toward the country\u2019s actual de-occupation.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
