{"id":43699,"date":"2022-09-12T10:30:29","date_gmt":"2022-09-12T07:30:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/articles\/belarus-foreign-exchange-reserves-drop-by-1-billion-in-2022-edb\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T20:29:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T20:29:13","slug":"belarus-foreign-exchange-reserves-drop-by-1-billion-in-2022-edb","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/43699\/","title":{"rendered":"Belarus&#8217; foreign exchange reserves drop by $1 billion in 2022 &#8211; EDB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n <b>September 12, <span>BPN<\/span>. <\/b>Belarus&#8217; gold and foreign exchange reserves decreased by $960.9 million since the start of 2022, says a weekly report by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t Earlier, the National Bank reported that Belarus foreign exchange reserves dropped by $97.6 million in August to $7.5 billion on September 1.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t The EDB analysts linked the August drop to debt repayment, lower gold prices, and the strengthening of the U.S. dollar against the Special Drawing Rights (SDR), a special tool for IMF payment settlement.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t These factors were partly offset by the purchase of $100 million by the National Bank on the internal currency market, after individuals sold the equivalent of $923 million and bought $868.4 million in August.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t Under the National Bank\u2019s monetary and credit policy guidelines for 2022, Belarus\u2019 international reserves should amount to at least $7 billion on January 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 12, BPN.
