It remains unclear for how long it may be extended, she said.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t Lithuania stepped up strategic sites\u2019 protection after the start of Russia&#8217;s war on Ukraine, Bilotait\u0117 noted, adding that the situation at the borders remains calm and the number of illegal migration cases has stabilized.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t The migration crisis at the Belarusian-EU border dates back to the spring of 2021. It escalated on November 8, 2021, when thousands of migrants set up a camp near the Polish border.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t The Baltic states and Poland accused Belarusian authorities of creating the trouble, while the latter blamed it on the West. Migration figures had dropped significantly by the time Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, but have risen more recently.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>November 16, BPN.
