December 2, BPN.<\/span><\/b> A separate military unit for Belarusian volunteers has been organized in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, a member of the opposition\u2019s cabinet in charge of defense and national security, Valer Sacha\u0161\u010dyk, told a press conference in Warsaw on December 2.<\/p>\n

Sacha\u0161\u010dyk noted that the unit is well equipped.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope there won\u2019t be unjustified casualties that we\u2019ve unfortunately had until recently just because our guys have been fighting without artillery and some other very important equipment,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

He said that many volunteers need training, good weapons or reconnaissance equipment. \u201cWe are solving this problem systematically, we have good relations with the leadership of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

He went on to say that since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Belarusian volunteers \u201chave been killed, wounded, received insufficient medical and legal assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs of today we have practically organized a system of assistance to Belarusian war veterans in Ukraine,\u201d he said. \u201cWe already have an agreement with a very good hospital in Warsaw, which will provide assistance on a systematic basis to all who need it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many fighters have left Ukraine without receiving any payments from the Ukrainian government, Sacha\u0161\u010dyk said. \u201cAs of today we are working with the office of President Zelensky, checking every report. And everything that the guys should get by law, they will get,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The opposition\u2019s security chief also said that preventing the Belarusian Armed Forces from entering the war is an important area of his work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
