Publication may resume in the second half of the year. Bie\u0142po\u0161ta, the national postal service, deleted the monthly&nbsp;from its distribution catalog.<\/p>\n<p> The <span>Belorusy i Rynok<\/span> monthly managed to survive the crackdown on the media, but experienced serious financial difficulties.<\/p>\n<p> On May 18, 2022 the Committee for State Security (KGB) arrested <span>Belorusy i Rynok<\/span> director Kanstancin Za\u0142atych, editor-in-chief Andrej Aleksandrovi\u010d and accountant Julija Kachno. <\/p>\n<p> Aleksandrovi\u010d and Kachno were freed later that day. Za\u0142atych is held in pre-trial detention. He has been charged with \u201cinciting hatred\u201d and recognized as a political prisoner by human rights groups.<\/p>\n<p> On July 23, the Ministry of Information blocked access to the newspaper\u2019s website because of alleged links&nbsp;to \u201cextremist\u201d content. <\/p>\n<p> <span>Belorusy i Rynok<\/span> was founded in December 1990 as the <span>Belorusskiy Rynok<\/span> weekly. It was renamed&nbsp;in September 2005, after Alaksandr \u0141uka\u0161enka had prohibited private entities from using the words \u201cnational\u201d and \u201cBelarusian\u201d (Belorusskiy).
