At a meeting with Alaksandr \u0141uka\u0161enka on September 6, Interior Minister Ivan Kubrako\u016d said the amendments would allow the state to deprive \u201cextremists\u201d of birthright citizenship.<\/p>\n<p> On November 24, the UN\u2019s special rapporteur on Belarus Ana\u00efs Marin said that a legal rule to revoke birthright citizenship was&nbsp;outrageous.<\/p>\n<p>In the summer of 2021, legislative changes came into force allowing officials to strip&nbsp;convicted extremists of acquired citizenship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>December 14, BPN.
