{"id":44964,"date":"2022-12-19T12:34:23","date_gmt":"2022-12-19T09:34:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/articles\/zelensky-ukraine-to-defend-itself-no-matter-what-lukasenka-and-putin-agree-on\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T20:29:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T20:29:13","slug":"zelensky-ukraine-to-defend-itself-no-matter-what-lukasenka-and-putin-agree-on","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/44964\/","title":{"rendered":"Zelensky: Ukraine to defend itself no matter what \u0141uka\u0161enka and Putin agree on"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n <b>December 19, <span>BPN<\/span>. <\/b>Protecting Ukraine&#8217;s border with both Russia and Belarus remains a constant priority, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the December 18 supreme commander\u2019s staff meeting.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t It took place on the eve of Russian President Vladimir Putin&#8217;s visit to Minsk.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t &#8220;We are preparing for all possible defensive scenarios, no matter what Minsk is inclined to do,&#8221; Zelenskyy said in his traditional evening address to the nation.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t Alaksandr \u0141uka\u0161enka and Putin may discuss a &#8220;wider&#8221; involvement of the Belarusian army in Russia&#8217;s war on Ukraine, including on land, according to Serhiy Nayev, Ukraine\u2019s joint forces commander.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the head of the Ukrainian president\u2019s office, noted earlier that Putin seeks \u0141uka\u0161enka\u2019s maximum support for the war.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t \u0141uka\u0161enka and Putin are expected to hold talks at the Independence Palace, one-on-one as well as with officials. They plan to discuss integration, economy, energy and security, the Belarusian leader\u2019s press office reported.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t On December 16, \u0141uka\u0161enka admitted that his upcoming talks with Putin might be perceived as a surrender of sovereignty. \u201cEveryone will say that that\u2019s all: there\u2019s no power in Belarus anymore, the Russians feel at home and run the country,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t At the same time, he noted that Minsk is ready to build relations with Moscow if it regards Belarus as a \u201csovereign and independent state.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t So far, Belarusian authorities allowed Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus, treated the wounded Russian soldiers, and provided training grounds for training Russian reservists called up for active duty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>December 19, BPN.
