The Brest Regional Court has sentenced Darja \u0141osik to two years in prison, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t Judge Mika\u0142aj Hryharovi\u010d convicted the woman of promoting extremism and punished her with the term requested by the prosecutor.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t Authorities accused her of giving an interview to <span>Belsat TV<\/span>, a television channel declared extremist, \u201cin which she positioned herself as a political prisoner\u2019s wife.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t The Prosecutor General\u2019s Office said that \u0141osik made negative remarks about state prosecution and justice offices by denying that her husband had committed crimes and claiming that he had been convicted illegally.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t Darja \u0141osik, the wife of Ihar \u0141osik, a jailed <span>RFE\/RL<\/span> contributor and administrator of the <span>Belarus Golovnogo Mozga <\/span>Telegram channel, was arrested in October 2022.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t In December 2021, Ihar \u0141osik was sentenced to 15 years in prison for alleged incitement to hatred and mass riots.
