{"id":45482,"date":"2023-01-25T18:20:29","date_gmt":"2023-01-25T15:20:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/articles\/russian-federation-council-ratifies-visa-recognition-deal-with-belarus\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T20:29:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T20:29:13","slug":"russian-federation-council-ratifies-visa-recognition-deal-with-belarus","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/45482\/","title":{"rendered":"Russian Federation Council ratifies visa recognition deal with Belarus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>January 25, <span>BPN.<\/span><\/b> The Russian Federation Council says it has ratified an agreement between the governments of Russia and Belarus on the mutual recognition of visas.<\/p>\n<p> The agreement is aimed at \u201ccreating one migration space and regulating the procedure for foreign nationals and stateless persons crossing the Russian-Belarusian border,\u201d said Yelena Afanasyeva, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n<p> According to the deal, each state would recognize visas and other entry permits issued by the other state, as well as passport stamps.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe create a system to interchange data&nbsp;on issued and canceled entry and stay permits, as well as on those passing the Russian and Belarusian border checkpoints. It will allow us to control foreigners\u2019 entry and exit from the territory of our countries,\u201d Afanasyeva said.<\/p>\n<p> The senator added that authorities \u201chave a relevant algorithm of actions\u201d when it comes to the verification and synchronization of Russian and Belarusian \u201cstop lists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> \u201cEach country has the right to refuse entry or cut short&nbsp;any foreign national\u2019s or stateless person\u2019s stay,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p> The Russian State Duma ratified the intergovernmental agreement, signed on June 19, 2020 in Minsk, on January 17. Belarus ratified it in late 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from that, Belarusian and Russian nationals are entitled to visa-free travel within the Union State.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 25, BPN.
