{"id":46856,"date":"2023-05-16T12:47:38","date_gmt":"2023-05-16T09:47:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/articles\/ebrd-projects-slight-drop-of-belarus-gdp-in-2023\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T20:29:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T20:29:13","slug":"ebrd-projects-slight-drop-of-belarus-gdp-in-2023","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/46856\/","title":{"rendered":"EBRD projects slight drop of Belarus\u2019 GDP in 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n <b>May 16, <span>BPN<\/span>.<\/b> Belarus&#8217; GDP is expected to drop by one percent in 2023, says the recent Regional Economic Prospects forecast by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t Western sanctions resulting from Belarus&#8217; close cooperation with Russia &#8220;constrained business activity and limited export opportunities,&#8221; the analysts said, noting that the 4.7 percent GDP drop in 2022 was &#8220;broad-based.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t The EBRD linked the contraction of investment and net exports to uncertainties resulting from Russia&#8217;s war on Ukraine and export and financing restrictions.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t It noted a decline in annualized inflation to six percent in March as a result of price controls and \u201ca strong base effect.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t Belarus\u2019 economy been adapting to a restrictive external environment, and its decline could slow down to 2.1 percent from January to March, the analysts said.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t The EBRD is expecting &#8220;a modest recovery in 2024, with growth of 1.3 percent, subject to significant downside risks.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 16, BPN.
