{"id":46982,"date":"2023-05-25T09:07:52","date_gmt":"2023-05-25T06:07:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/articles\/two-polack-university-instructors-sentenced-to-10-days-in-jail\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T20:29:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T20:29:13","slug":"two-polack-university-instructors-sentenced-to-10-days-in-jail","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/46982\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Po\u0142ack university instructors sentenced to 10 days in jail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n <b>May 25,&nbsp;<span>BPN<\/span>.&nbsp;<\/b>A district judge in Navapo\u0142ack, Viciebsk region, on May 24 sentenced two Po\u0142ack State University professors to 10 days in jail for allegedly following social media outlets labeled by the government extremist.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t Halina&nbsp;\u0160arah\u0142azava, chair of the Geodesy and Geoinformation System Department, and Alona Chramcova, a world literature instructor, were arrested in a police raid on May 23 along with a dozen of other university employees, a source told <span>BPN <\/span>speaking on the condition of anonymity.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t Law professor Siarhiej H\u0142azyryn and history professor Viktar \u010cara\u016dko were tried on May 23, and are currently serving their 15-day sentences at the Po\u0142ack detention center\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t The crackdown comes days after police arrested and jailed several doctors from the Navapo\u0142ack City Hospital.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t In late March, another series of arrests targeted local history museum workers.
