Of them, 2,127 were still in Belarus. Hienad\u017a Kor\u0161una\u016d, senior researcher at the Center for New Ideas, pointed out that 55 percent of participants chose to be polled in Belarusian.<\/p>\n<p> Some 90 percent of Belarusian speakers and 83 percent of Russian speakers supported a European future for Belarus.<\/p>\n<p> Some 90 percent of respondents in both language groups would vote against a Belarus-Russia merger in the referendum.<\/p>\n<p>More than 90 percent of respondents in both groups stated that Belarus should be independent and that relations with Russia should be based on international treaties.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>June 26, BPN.
