He may face criminal charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities released D\u017amitryj Kanie\u016dski after he had served a three-year prison term on charges of inciting hatred, the Homiel branch of the Viasna Human Rights Center reported. His mother Ta\u0107ciana Kanie\u016dskaja is currently serving a six-year prison term on charges widely seen as politically motivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trials<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On November 8, a judge in Homiel jailed Alaksadar Kanie\u016dski, another son of Ta\u0107ciana Kanie\u016dskaja, for 15 days for sharing opposition content, the Homiel-based Viasna\u2019s rights defenders said. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vasil Palako\u016d, a former chair of the United Civic Party (UCP) and human rights activist, was jailed for 15 days for the second consecutive time on charges of sharing opposition content, the Homiel branch of Viasna said. He went on a hunger strike protesting his persecution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jahor Macijenka from the Or\u0161a district, Viciebsk region, was jailed for 15 days for following opposition content on Instagram and Telegram, the Viciebsk branch of Viasna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Criminal proceedings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A judge in Minsk sentenced Kiry\u0142 Prakopa\u016d and his wife Viktoryja to two and a half years of restricted freedom in home confinement for participating in 2020 protests, Viasna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arciom Janko\u016dski went on trial in Hrodna on charges of staging mass riots, Viasna reported. Investigators say he encouraged protesters to throw Molotov cocktails at police officers and shared instructions for making them with his friends. In early November, the Committee for State Security (KGB) added him to its register of people &#8220;involved in terrorist activities.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Extremist&#8221; lists update<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Author\u00adi\u00adties added 22 names to their list of \u201cextremists,\u201d bringing the total to 3,520, the interior ministry said. All of those blacklisted are serving sentences on charges typical of regime critics. Human rights groups declared 11 of them political prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A judge in Mahilo\u016d declared the Odnoklassniki page by exiled opposition politician Anatol Labied\u017aka extremist content, the information ministry said. Other blacklisted content includes <em>OSP Terror<\/em> and <em>belonews<\/em> Telegram accounts, several opposition-linked Instagram accounts and a Facebook page by the Golos project that was instrumental in exposing irregularities during the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of November 18, human rights defenders identified at least 1,449 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.
