The team may not be able to continue its work, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One potential donor said that most of the medium and small-sized exiled Belarusian media outlets face similar challenges, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A small editorial team has a limited capacity to pursue new content-sharing strategies and master new platforms in a short time, Pa\u016dlu\u010denka noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The journalist was critical of the European donors&#8217; egalitarian approach to the independent Belarusian and Russian media, noting that it fails to account for their different working conditions and audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eventually, the policy puts the independent Belarusian media outlets at a disadvantage and may lead to their disappearance, undermining &#8220;the Belarusians\u2019 ability to resist external aggression and occupation,&#8221; he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere is the problem of the continuing colonial narrative supported by the Kremlin and propaganda in every way,\u201d he said. \u201cThe Belarusian media are held hostage to the situation. We are under different conditions with the Russian media. Belarus does not block access to them [the Russian outlets], and, as far as I know, they are trying to sell the Belarusian audience as well to their potential partners.
