Its water sections crossing rivers, streams and swamps are to be completed by July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry is expecting the entire fence along Latvia&#8217;s eastern frontier with Russia and Belarus to be completed by the beginning of 2025, after which engineers will continue to install other border infrastructure elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the completion of the ground part, Latvian Interior Minister Rihards Kozlovskis said it will &#8220;significantly help border guards in their work to apprehend migrants.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the beginning of 2023, Latvia has stopped more than 13,800 illegal migrants who crossed from Belarusian territory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>December 22, Pozirk.
