December 26, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The 2020 protests have motivated education officials to “carry out systemic work” on “the patriotic education of children” at schools, military-patriotic clubs, and summer camps, Belarusian Education Minister Andrej Ivaniec told SB. Belarus Segodnya<\/em> in an interview.

He cited free museum tours for pupils, thematic lessons during these tours, and the opening of school museums as examples of such education.

“We have developed a history education concept for schools. Why? To teach children analysis and critical thinking,” the minister said.

“From September 1, we will be teaching tenth-graders a new integrated course, ‘The History of Belarus in the Context of World History,'” he said.

He went on to say that officials have reviewed teaching aids on humanities on the instructions of Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka. “But we will not be changing facts, like our ill-wishers say,” he said. “Take, for instance, the history schoolbook. We reject the monotonous learning of dates and locations and strive to form pupils’ worldview instead.”

Belarusian officials changed the school program in 2022. Teachers started citing materials on “the genocide of the Belarusian people” provided by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

In 2023, publishers printed schoolbooks on the Nazi genocide. Belarusian officials have made a consistent effort to identify peaceful protesters against electoral fraud with Nazis and their collaborators.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
