Reprisals continue on the same scale even though people are less willing to talk about it out of fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doctors often have to work extra shifts while some hospitals assign one anesthesiologist for two uncomplicated simultaneous surgeries, which is usually prohibited, she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023, job openings for doctors rose from 4,607 to 4,853 but not all jobs are publicly advertised, she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For instance, the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center of Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology is short of 20 anesthesiologists, Tarasienka said, citing her sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The center headed by Aleh Rummo, who is under Polish sanctions for his role in reprisals, is also looking to hire physicians, pulmonologists and ultrasound specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, loyalty to the government, not skills, play a major role in the hiring process, Tarasienka noted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>December 27, Pozirk.
