No further details of the case are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The high treason charge carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison. Authorities have been using it to prosecute opponents and dissenters in the last three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Opposition activist Pavie\u0142 Bie\u0142avus, journalists Kaciaryna Bachva\u0142ava (Andrejeva), Dzianis Iva\u0161yn, media manager Andrej Alaksandra\u016d and his wife Iryna Z\u0142obina were given lengthy prison terms on similar charges.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>December 28, Pozirk.
