{"id":5947,"date":"2023-10-17T12:11:45","date_gmt":"2023-10-17T09:11:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/api.pozirk.online\/?post_type=articles&#038;p=5947"},"modified":"2026-03-10T12:05:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T12:05:06","slug":"tomaso-pietro-marchegiani-to-serve-as-italys-envoy-to-belarus","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/5947\/","title":{"rendered":"Tomaso Pietro Marchegiani to serve as Italy\u2019s envoy to Belarus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>October 17, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Tomaso Pietro Marchegiani will become the new Italian ambassador to Belarus, says the farewell address of the outgoing Italian envoy Mario Baldi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baldi said he had done his best to protect the interests of Italy and to promote the development of relations with Belarus while avoiding political turmoil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His five-year term in Belarus has been &#8220;very tense and difficult,&#8221; with the COVID-19 pandemic, postelection protests in Belarus and the war in the neighboring Ukraine, the diplomat said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baldi stressed his efforts to keep the door of political dialogue open, to develop trade, and to protect the interest of Italian nationals in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marchegiani had earlier worked in the countries of Central and Northern Europe and served as Italian Consul General in Geneva.
