January 9, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Polish Foreign Minister Rados\u0142aw Sikorski and a delegation of the opposition transition cabinet headed by \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja agreed to set up a working group to address Belarus-related issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their meeting took place on January 8 in Warsaw, Cichano\u016dskaja’s Telegram channel said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interdepartmental group will reportedly include officials of Polish ministries and other government agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja urged the Polish foreign ministry to continue issuing tourist and humanitarian visas to Belarusians. She also suggested that Poland should also issue visas to Belarusians at Polish consulates in other countries, such as Georgia, where exiled Belarusians often face problems obtaining necessary papers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opposition leader advocated for the interests of Belarusian businesses in Poland, including the extension of the Poland Business Harbor program, and called for assistance to Poland-based independent Belarusian media that are instrumental in countering propaganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja also asked Adam Sz\u0142apka, the Polish minister for European affairs, to support the European aspirations of Belarusians and make Belarus one of the priorities during the Polish presidency in the Council of the European Union in 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
