The child was reportedly regularly beaten for misbehavior, was exhausted and weighed only seven kilograms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aleksandar Nikoloski, rapporteur on the abolition of the death penalty at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, urged the Belarusian authorities not to carry out the death sentence. He expressed \u201cdeepest sympathies to all those affected by this heinous crime\u201d but condemned the sentence in \u201cthe strongest possible terms.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarus remains the only country in Europe to pass death sentences, contrary to the worldwide trends, Nikoloski noted. \u201cThe death penalty is irreversible,\u201d he stressed. \u201cIt strikes at the very core of human dignity and should have no place in any modern society.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EU spokesman Peter Stano made a similar statement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 9, Pozirk.
