January 26, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Polish Foreign Minister Rados\u0142aw Sikorski has decided to suspend the ministry’s participation in the Poland Business Harbor program until decisions are taken to ensure adequate checks on the companies and foreigners involved, the Polish foreign office said in a media release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poland Business Harbor has not lived up to expectations, the ministry said, pointing to public concerns about the fair use of visas issued under the program. However, foreigners seeking jobs in the Polish IT sector can apply for visas “on common basis.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministry said it will work on facilitating visa procedures for businesspeople, especially in the sectors of demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier today, Belarusian media reported the closure of the PBH program, which streamlined the relocation of freelancers, startups, and other businesses and was popular among Belarusians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Association of Belarusian Business Abroad told Pozirk<\/em> that it had no official confirmation of these reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABBA and Pozirk<\/em> have contacted the Polish foreign office for comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna Kostrzewa-Misztal, deputy director of the Polish foreign ministry’s eastern department, said in September that almost 90,000 visas had been issued under the program in the course of three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program was established in September 2020 to attract specialists from Belarus-based IT companies to Poland. It was later expanded to include Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
