January 29, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Zavod SVT, a subsidiary of Belarus\u2019 Amkador manufacturer of special-purpose machinery, is involved in the production of weapons, the BelPol resistance group said, citing its own investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plant is reportedly developing the Svisloch attack unmanned aerial vehicle and the Vartavy, an artillery radar and fire control system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amkador CEO Alaksandar \u0160akucin did a favor to Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka “who would be able to play up these products to [Russian President Vladimir] Putin,” U\u0142adzimir \u017dyhar of BelPol told Pozirk<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In one of the letters addressed to the Belarusian ruler, \u0160akucin boasted of Amkador\u2019s contribution to “maintaining the country’s defense capability,” according to BelPol. “We have a letter, in which \u0160akucin asks \u0141uka\u0161enka to allow Zavod SVT to purchase necessary equipment without competition,” \u017dyhar added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian defense ministry and the General Staff ordered the development of the radar system, while Amkador was partially involved in the drone design. Most of the parts are purchased in China, BelPol said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amkador can easily manufacture up to 400 drones, which are of mediocre quality, \u017dyhar noted. However, Russia may be interested in buying drones together with the radar systems. Amkador is a Belarusian holding manufacturing construction equipment. As of 2022, it included 26 companies, 17 plants among them. Its owner \u0160akucin has been targeted by the European Union\u2019s sanctions for his close ties with Luka\u0161enka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
