February 1, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Fewer European Union nationals visited Belarusian health resorts last year because of Western sanctions and hostile attitudes, said Hienad\u017a Ba\u0142bato\u016dski, head of the national center in charge of health resorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, EU nationals kept coming in 2023, and more than a hundred Baltic States’ nationals are now staying at Belarusian health resorts, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian resorts continue cooperating with Western businesses, Ba\u0142bato\u016dski said, noting his recent meeting with a Swiss businessman interested in equipment supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, Belarusian health resorts hosted 217,500 foreigners. That was a rise of 15.5 percent year on year, with revenues up 26 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ninety-five percent were Russians, while the remaining 5 percent included people from “70 other countries,” Ba\u0142bato\u016dski noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, the health resort occupancy rate exceeded 84 percent with 1.5 million visitors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
