Prime Minister Raman Ha\u0142o\u016d\u010danka took the helm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to organizing the assembly, \u0141uka\u0161enka ordered the committee to run a media campaign about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This morning, the Belarusian ruler appointed Valeryj Mickievi\u010d, deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, as head of the assembly&#8217;s secretariat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the Constitution, the assembly is the supreme representative body that sets the strategic priorities for society and the state. It ensures \u201cthe inviolability of the constitutional order, the continuity of generations and civil harmony.\u201d It has a maximum of 1,200 members with a five-year mandate and must convene at least once a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can propose legislation and constitutional amendments and will approve foreign and domestic policy priorities and socioeconomic programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On February 25, Belarus will hold elections for the House of Representatives and the local councils.
