February 11, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The West did not impose any sanctions on medical goods exports to Belarus despite the Belarusian propaganda claiming otherwise, Pavie\u0142 \u0141atu\u0161ka, the head of the Warsaw-based National Anti-Crisis Management (NAM), has said on his YouTube channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many Western companies, including in the pharma sector, refuse to cooperate with Minsk due to the toxic character of Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka’s regime, the politician noted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

International businesses are reluctant to deal with a country with ongoing politically-motivated reprisals, whose government supports Russia\u2019s war on Ukraine and sponsors a migration crisis at the European Union\u2019s borders, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eurostat data shows that Belarus has been increasing its purchases of EU-made drugs for the last eight years, \u0141atu\u0161ka said in response to Belarusian health official Anatol Hru\u0161ko\u016dski, who accused Western countries of halting their drug exports to Belarus for political reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address to the World Health Organization\u2019s board in Geneva on January 24, Hru\u0161ko\u016dski claimed that the United Kingdom’s regulatory agency delayed procedures for approving morphine pills exports to Belarus. The official also accused Sweden’s M\u00f6lnlycke Health Care of refusing to supply dressing materials necessary for the palliative care of children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sanctions block access to several critical drugs for the most vulnerable groups, including children, seniors and cancer patients, allegedly violating the declared “humanitarian exemptions,” Hru\u0161kouski said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
