Grodno i Oblast <\/em>Telegram channel reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three persons were arrested in Baranavi\u010dy, Brest region, for participating in protests, a pro-government source said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Viciebsk man is under arrest for reacting to an Odnoklassniki post about the death of Or\u0161a police chief Siarhiej Barvianko\u016d, according to a pro-government source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police arrested social-democratic activist Siarhiej Pry\u0161\u010dyk in Mika\u0161evicy, Brest region, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported. He is suspected of sharing opposition content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three employees of Gazprom Transgaz Belarus, including two engineers, were arrested on charges of participating in protests and sharing opposition content, Viasna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New criminal charges<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities filed criminal charges against one of the employees of Belroskino, a Minsk-based private film studio, the <em>Sviashchenniy Belavud<\/em> Telegram channel said. In mid-January, police raided the studio following an alleged denunciation report. Several employees served two-week-long jail terms on charges of petty hooliganism. The owners of the studio are said to be linked to the authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Criminal proceedings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Baranavi\u010dy judge sentenced Ja\u016dhien K\u0142ada\u016d to one year in prison for a reaction to an Odnoklassniki post about Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka, Viasna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On January 26, student Safija Ka\u017eamiakina was given two and a half years of restricted freedom in home confinement for participating in two protest rallies in 2020, Viasna reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other instances of persecution<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On February 16, the Supreme Court will hear Alaksandar Kuliko\u016d&#8217;s appeal against the four-and-a-half&#8211;year prison sentence, Viasna siad. He was arrested last summer upon his return to Belarus from Poland. Authorities persecuted him on charges ranging from slandering \u0141uka\u0161enka to participating in activities of an extremist group. Human rights groups consider Kuliko\u016d a political prisoner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former political prisoner and blogger Siarhiej Piatruchin has been evacuated from Belarus, BYSOL Foundation co-founder and human rights defender Andrej Stry\u017eak said on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarusian human rights groups demanded that Russia show ex-Naftan worker Siarhiej Jeramieje\u016d to the public and report his whereabouts, the Strana Dlya Zhizni Foundation reported. Rights groups said Russian authorities could be hiding him &#8220;to conceal evidence of possible torture.&#8221; Jeramieje\u016d was arrested in Russia\u2019s Omsk province in December on suspicion of committing a terrorist attack and was reportedly last seen two months ago in court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of February 14, human rights defenders identified at least 1,417 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.
