February 17, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja’s advisor has said that D\u017amitryj Ku\u010duk, the former chairman of the de jure liquidated Belarusian Greens Party who was arrested yesterday in Minsk, was the seventh party leader to end up behind bars, Parlamentsky Kanal<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The advisor, Anatol Labied\u017aka, recalled that earlier the authorities imprisoned Mika\u0142aj Statkievi\u010d (Narodnaja Hramada), Viktar Babaryka (Razam), Pavie\u0142 Sieviaryniec (Belarusian Christian Democracy), Mika\u0142aj Kaz\u0142o\u016d (United Civi\u0441 Party), Ryhor Kastusio\u016d (Belarusian Popular Front), and Andrej D\u017amitryje\u016d (Our Party).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ku\u010duk was arrested on his way to Moscow’s embassy, where he planned to lay flowers and light lamps in memory of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who died in prison on February 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Labied\u017aka said he respected and admired Ku\u010duk’s action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Now there is every reason to worry about the fate of D\u017amitryj. Just two days before his arrest, Ku\u010duk said he had received information about a security crackdown planned for February 25,” Labied\u017aka added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
