February 22, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Polish Sejm and Senate have agreed to form a common group For Democratic Belarus, said Anatol Labied\u017aka, an advisor to Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, the group will be headed by MP Micha\u0142 Szczerba, president of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and Deputy Senate Marshal Micha\u0142 Kami\u0144ski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group will consist of 12 members, including the committee chairs and “the legend of the Solidarity trade union” Bogdan Borusewicz, Labied\u017aka said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poles elected the new parliament in October 2023. The lower and upper houses held the first sessions on November 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The previous parliament also had a joint group For Democratic Belarus, formed in July 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Belarusian opposition, 23 national parliaments have such groups. In March 2023, an alliance of these groups was announced. Alliance members held the first meeting in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
