March 1, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Instructors from Russia\u2019s Wagner Group have shared their system of combat training with the Belarusian military, Deputy Defense Minister Andrej \u017duk told sb.by<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Artillerymen, tank crews, motorized riflemen, UAV operators, anti-aircraft gunners \u2013 all those who took part in combat operations [on Russia\u2019s side against Ukraine] pass on their experience to our military,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instructors of higher military schools participate in the training along with soldiers to be able to share their new skills “with cadets, students and those enrolled for reserve officer training programs,” the general added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training curriculum for Belarusian servicemen is currently based on Russia’s experiences in Ukraine, “but we try to think ahead and act ahead,” \u017duk said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine, in which the Belarusian government supported the Kremlin. Minsk allowed the Russian army to attack Ukraine and shell its cities from Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 9, the internal troops\u2019 Telegram channel reported on the completion of the sixth tactical and special training course taught by Wagner Group instructors with combat experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wagner mercenaries have reportedly been training Belarusian troops since the summer of 2023, when the government allowed them to set up a camp in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
