March 6, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Just over 2,400 heavy trucks queued up at the Belarus-EU border at 10 a.m., the State Border Committee reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The largest number of trucks were waiting to cross into Lithuania: 850 at the Kamienny \u0141oh checkpoint and 815 at the Bieniakoni checkpoint. According to the State Border Committee, the former has a capacity of 500 trucks per day and the latter \u2013 250 trucks per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 465 trucks were waiting at Ryhora\u016d\u0161\u010dyna (200 per day) at the border with Latvia. At the Polish border, 300 trucks were waiting at Kaz\u0142ovi\u010dy (1,200 per day).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In August 2023, Lithuania closed its \u0160umskas and Tvere\u010dius checkpoints, and in March 2024, Lavori\u0161k\u0117s and Raigardas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2023, after Belarus had sentenced journalist and Polish minority activist Andrej Pa\u010dobut (Andrzej Poczobut) to eight years in prison, Poland closed a key crossing at the shared border, Bobrowniki, until further notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In September 2023, Latvia closed the Silene border crossing indefinitely citing concerns about illegal migration from Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
