{"id":71632,"date":"2024-03-07T13:21:26","date_gmt":"2024-03-07T10:21:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/71632\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"polish-diplomat-pushes-for-tougher-sanctions-against-belarus","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/71632\/","title":{"rendered":"Polish diplomat pushes for tougher sanctions against Belarus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>March 7, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Polish authorities are trying to ensure that all the sanctions applied against Russia should also apply to its ally Belarus, <em>PAP<\/em> reported, citing Deputy Foreign Minister W\u0142adys\u0142aw Bartoszewski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Belarus is closely linked to the Kremlin by its anti-Ukrainian activities, he told Polish MPs from the parliamentary committee on foreign affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Portuguese foreign minister resists the expansion of sanctions against Minsk, Bartoszewski said but assured MPs that he may still be convinced to include Belarus in the European Union\u2019s 14<sup>th<\/sup> sanctions package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sanctions can be very effective, but Russia is evading some of the restrictions through Belarus, the diplomat noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Polish foreign ministry will keep Belarus on the EU and international agenda, Bartoszewski stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Warsaw will also keep pushing for the release of all Belarusian political prisoners, including Andrej Pa\u010dobut (Andrzej Poczobut), a journalist and Polish minority activist, he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March 7, Pozirk.
