March 10, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> On March 20, the Minsk City Court will hear the justice ministry’s liquidation suit against the Belarusian Association of Political Reprisal Victims, the electronic court schedule says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judge Natalla Pesianka will preside over the proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 1990s, the association compiled lists of repressed and exonerated Belarusians and collected their memoirs, which are now kept at the National Archive of Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 2, the Supreme Court ruled to shut down another similar organization, the Belarusian Association of Political Repression Victims of the 1920s-80s, that provided assistance to those repressed during the Soviet rule and commemorated them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 22, the Minsk City Court will also hear a closure suit against the Center for Support of Chernobyl Initiatives that has functioned since 2009. Last fall, the same court closed down two other major Chernobyl charities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
