More than 2,300 trucks are waiting to enter Lithuania. Carriers have to find other routes, which has a negative impact on time and financial costs,&#8221; the Belarusian committee said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February, the Lithuanian government decided to close the Lavori\u0161k\u0117s and Raigardas checkpoints on March 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This leaves only two of the six crossings on the shared border open: Medininkai and \u0160al\u010dininkai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u0160umskas and Tvere\u010dius checkpoints were closed in August 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vilnius links the measures to national security, smuggling, and international sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the open checkpoints, Lithuania has banned the movement of pedestrians and cyclists and reduced the number of permits for passenger transport by 50 percent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March 18, Pozirk.
