March 21, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Reservists continue training sessions within the ongoing comprehensive combat readiness check in the Belarusian Armed Forces, the defense ministry’s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A military firing range in the Minsk region will host exercises with T-72B tanks with live firing from closed firing positions at a range of up to 10,000 meters, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The servicemen have arrived at the site and set up equipment and accommodations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Separate military units and subdivisions of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces are also preparing to perform tasks in designated areas to ensure border protection, the ministry added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drills will reportedly help assess officers\u2019 commanding abilities, weapons and military equipment mobility and personnel training in fulfilling assigned tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The comprehensive drill will be stepped up, General Staff Chief Viktar Hulevi\u010d announced on March 15. Four days later, the ministry said 5,000 reservists were called up for the drill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian military launched the drill on March 11 in response to NATO\u2019s large-scale exercise Steadfast Defender, a multi-domain exercise, incorporating land, air, sea, cyber and space operations from late January to the end of May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exercise is strategically located in several key European countries, including Finland, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
