March 26, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Military units have been deployed “not to a range but to a real section, real routes and a real border” during the ongoing comprehensive drill, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktar Chrenin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The environment we have created for them is that there is no war today, and the enemy is only preparing. With our actions, we demonstrate our determination to defend our country,” Chrenin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visiting military positions in the Hrodna region’s A\u0161miany district on March 26, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka said Belarus and Russia are not planning to attack Western countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian ruler inspected a tank battalion stationed in the Hrodna region\u2019s A\u0161miany district near the Lithuanian border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The army launched the comprehensive drill on March 11, calling up 5,000 reservists for live-fire and other training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viktar Hulevi\u010d, chief of staff and first deputy defense minister, said the move comes in response to NATO\u2019s Steadfast Defender, a multi-domain exercise, incorporating land, air, sea, cyber and space operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It involves deploying forces from North America and other parts of the Alliance to Europe. Over several months, complex multi-domain operations will be conducted across thousands of kilometers, thereby enhancing civil-military cooperation and national and collective resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exercise is strategically located in several key European countries, including Finland, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Events are taking place from late January to the end of May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
